The Security and Exchange Commission has accused the United States government of fraud! Uh... well, the S.E.C. is accusing Goldman Sachs of fraud. Same thing, right? Republicans rally round the big banks! Actually, no, well at least not last week. I guess now Mitch McConnel is saying the big banks should be allowed to fail even if they're too big to fail. I'm so confused! Wasn't it the Republicans who backed that big truck up to the U.S. Treasury and loaded it up with seven-hundred billion dollars to bail out the banks on Wall Street because they said if we didn't give them that money it would be Armageddon? Oh I see. That was then. This is now. So now they're saying to hell with the banks. Even though John Boehner told them not to cave into Congressional aides working on financial reform. Anyway... Oklahoma mourns on the fifteenth anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. No? I guess the Oklahomans are asking their state to create an armed voluntary militia to combat the federal government. I know, I know, those are the guys that bombed that building. At least they're finally supporting the extension of unemployment benefits. No? How bout nuclear security? Nada? Regulation of the coal industry? Nyet! Hospital visitation rights for gay couples? Why do you laugh?
